Description

TEREA Ruby Regular is a Japan edition tobacco stick for IQOS ILUMA, made by Philip Morris International. It sits in the Flavour Regular series, which means it carries a fruit note over a tobacco base with no menthol and no cooling. In Ruby Regular that note is red berry, closer to cassis than to a sweet candy fruit. The tobacco stays in front and the berry sits underneath it.

This is one of the Japan exclusive flavours, which is why UAE buyers ask for it by name. IQOS Abu Dhabi stocks the original 200 stick carton with delivery across all seven emirates.

How Ruby Regular tastes

The draw is medium bodied. It is heavier than Smooth Regular but nowhere near as sharp as Bold Regular. Most of the session tastes like a warm, slightly dry tobacco, and the berry shows up as a faint sweetness on the exhale rather than as a fruit flavour you can name. There is no cooling at any point.

If you smoke indoors or in the evening and find menthol sticks too cold, this is the usual replacement people move to. It also holds up well after a meal, where a menthol stick can flatten the taste of the food.

Ruby Regular is not Ruby Fuse or Black Ruby

Three different sticks carry the Ruby name and people mix them up constantly. They come from different markets and only one of them is menthol free.

If you searched for a Ruby stick and expected cooling, you want TEREA Ruby Fuse or TEREA Black Ruby Indonesia instead. Ruby Wave is a name that circulates online but it is not a separate TEREA release we stock, and searches for it usually land on one of the three above.

Where it sits in the Regular series

The Japan Regular line runs from light to heavy. Ruby Regular sits just past the middle, which is why it works as a daily stick for people who came off full flavour cigarettes.

Which devices it works with

TEREA sticks have a metal element built into the stick. The device heats that element by induction, so nothing is pushed into the tobacco. That is also why there is no residue left inside the chamber and no cleaning stick needed after every pack. The full explanation is in our article on how SMARTCORE induction works.

Works with IQOS ILUMA Standard, IQOS ILUMA One, IQOS ILUMA Prime and the whole IQOS ILUMA i range.

It does not work with IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS 3 Multi, IQOS Originals, lil or LAMBDA. Those are blade heaters and they need HEETS sticks. Forcing a TEREA stick into a blade device will damage the blade. Using it

1. Take one stick from the pack and insert it into the device with the tobacco end going in first, up to the printed line.
2. Close the cap and press the button. The device vibrates or lights up when it is ready, usually in about 20 seconds.
3. Draw normally. The taste is fullest in the middle of the session, so no need to pull hard on the first few puffs.
4. The device signals again near the end. Pull the stick straight out once it stops.

You cannot relight or reuse a TEREA stick. Once the session ends the tobacco is spent and a second run tastes burnt. More on that in our note about when to change sticks.

Nicotine and what heating changes

Each stick has about 0.5 mg of nicotine. Because the tobacco is heated to roughly 350C instead of burned at over 800C, there is no combustion, no ash and much less smell on clothes and in a room. Storing a carton in UAE heat

Keep cartons indoors, out of sunlight, ideally under 25C. A carton left in a car through a Dubai afternoon dries the tobacco out and the berry note is the first thing to disappear. Keep unopened packs sealed until you need them. More detail on shelf life and storage.

Spotting a fake Japan pack

Japan sticks are the most copied TEREA variant in the UAE because the Japan exclusive flavours sell at a premium. On a genuine carton the cellophane is tight with a clean tear strip, the print is sharp with no colour bleed at the edges of the Ruby band, and the manufacture code is legible on the side flap. A counterfeit Ruby Regular usually tastes flat and slightly chemical, with the berry note missing entirely. Everything we ship comes sealed at carton level and is never split or repacked.

The same brand is produced for several markets and the blends are not identical. Japan runs the widest flavour list and the most distinct fruit notes.
