Description

TEREA Sun Pearl is the Japan edition capsule stick in the TEREA Pearl range, built for IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i. Left alone it tastes like a toasted tobacco stick with a faint herbal edge. Squeeze the bead in the filter and a sweet melon note with light mint comes through. Philip Morris International launched it in Japan in April 2023, pulled it that September, and brought it back in May 2024, which is why stock in the UAE moves in and out.

What Sun Pearl actually tastes like

Two flavours live in one stick, and you control the switch.

Compared with TEREA Oasis Pearl, Sun Pearl is sweeter and less cooling. Oasis Pearl leans tropical with a stronger menthol lift. If you want mint on its own without any fruit, TEREA Menthol is the plainer option, and TEREA Tropical Menthol gives you fruit and menthol without a capsule.

How to use the capsule

1. Slide the stick into your ILUMA device with the filter facing out and close the cap.
2. Wait for the vibration, then take your first draw. You are tasting the toasted tobacco base at this point.
3. Find the small pearl icon printed on the filter. Press it between finger and thumb until it clicks.
4. Melon and mint release straight away and stay for the rest of the stick.

You cannot undo the click, so hold off if you want the plain base first. Most people crush around the fourth or fifth puff. If you are new to ILUMA, the step by step IQOS guide covers the basics.

Technical specifications

The stick holds a stainless steel susceptor that the device heats by induction. Nothing is inserted into the tobacco, so there is no ash and no cleaning stick to run afterwards. Sun Pearl by origin

Three regional versions of Sun Pearl reach the UAE and they do not taste the same, which is worth knowing before you order.

There is also an IQOS HEETS Sun Pearl for blade devices. It carries the same name but a different stick format, so do not order it for an ILUMA. Storage in UAE heat

The capsule is the part that suffers in high temperatures. A carton left in a parked car through a Dubai afternoon can leak or dry out the bead, and once that happens the click gives you almost nothing. Keep cartons indoors, out of direct sun, and take only the pack you need with you. More on this in our notes on shelf life and storage.

What flavour is TEREA Sun Pearl?

What is the nicotine level in Sun Pearl?

0.5 mg per stick, the same as the rest of the TEREA range.

Is Sun Pearl a menthol stick?

Only partly. The mint is mild and sits behind the fruit. If you want a proper menthol hit, look at the menthol flavour range instead.

Is Sun Pearl stronger than Oasis Pearl?

No. Both have a similar tobacco strength, but Oasis Pearl cools harder and tastes more tropical. Sun Pearl is the sweeter and gentler of the two.

Can I use Sun Pearl in IQOS ILUMA One?

Yes, and in every other ILUMA or ILUMA i model. It will not work in IQOS 3 DUO or any blade device.

Which version is this, Japan or Kazakhstan?

This listing is the Japan edition. Kazakhstan and Indonesia are stocked separately and taste different, as set out in the origin table above.

Is Sun Pearl made in Japan?

It is the Japanese market edition, but PMI produces most TEREA sticks at its Italian plants. The blend and packaging follow the Japanese specification.

Why does Sun Pearl go out of stock?

PMI has discontinued and relaunched it before in Japan, so supply arrives in batches. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you when the next shipment lands.
